Travix Accessibility Statement (EAA and WCAG Compliance)

Our Commitment

At Travix, we believe that travel should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to creating an inclusive digital experience that allows all users, including those with disabilities, to search, compare, book, and manage their trips independently and with ease.
This statement outlines the current accessibility status of our services and the measures we are taking to meet the guidelines of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), EN 301 549, WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and applicable Dutch legislation.

Scope of this Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the websites and services operated by Travix, specifically:

Main Booking Pages

  • Home page
  • Flight search results page
  • Payment process
  • Post-sale booking summary page
  • Manage booking detail pages

These pages substantially comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549 standards through native development, without relying on third-party overlays.

Secondary Pages

  • Blog pages
  • Campaign and promotion pages
  • Destination and route pages
  • "About Us" and informational pages

These pages partially comply with the standards. Until native remediation is complete, a UserWay accessibility widget is offered as an optional enhancement tool. Overlay tools are provided as a practical solution, but they do not replace native compliance with accessibility standards.

External Services

Travix incorporates third-party elements (for example, external payment gateways or provider iframes) that fall outside of its direct control. Their accessibility will depend on the measures taken by their respective providers.

Active Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following features in our core services:

  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Can be used with major screen readers.
  • Keyboard Navigation: Essential functions can be accessed using only the keyboard.
  • Consistent Structure: Pages have a logical design, with structured headers, landmarks, and menus.
  • Visual Support: Contrast, zoom, and text size can be adjusted.
  • Error Feedback: Clear and descriptive error messages for user inputs.
  • Plain Language: Content and interfaces have been designed with cognitive accessibility in mind.
  • Brand Accessibility Standards: Typography and color contrast have been analyzed using WCAG 2.1 Level AA thresholds as a reference.

Users can optionally access additional assistive functions through the UserWay widget, where available.

Current Compliance Status

Currently, Travix services:

  • Substantially comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549 standards in the main booking processes.
  • Partially comply with the standards in non-core informational content, and progressive improvements are being carried out.
  • Are supported by automated analysis, external expert audits, and testing by users with disabilities.

This statement serves as a partial declaration of conformity with standard EN 301 549 (V3.2.1, 2021-03).

Ongoing Measures to Improve Accessibility

Our accessibility improvement program includes:

  • Monthly Automated Monitoring: Analysis using Level Access tools.
  • Quarterly Independent Audits: External accessibility assessments.
  • Testing with Real Users: Usability tests with people with disabilities.
  • Internal Accessibility Specialists: Staff trained and specialized in accessibility best practices.
  • Progressive Remediation: Redesign focused on non-essential pages to comply with WCAG natively.
  • Reduction of Dependency on Overlays: Commitment to minimize dependency on overlay tools.
  • Accessibility KPIs: Progress tracking as a formal metric in product and engineering roadmaps.
